About

The goal of the Eastern Wyoming Avalanche Information Exchange (EWYAIX) is to promote avalanche safety through the sharing of snow and avalanche information. Backcountry users can submit and view observations and see weather station data on a map-based interface.

Carbon County Avalanche Observation Team

Working in conjunction with Discover Carbon County and the Wyoming Office of Tourism, the Carbon County Avalanche Observation Team works to provide consistent, standardized, and geographically representative avalanche condition observations throughout southeast Wyoming. Consisting of eight AIARE trained Search and Rescue personnel and Sheriff’s Office volunteers, the motorized team is grant funded and operates out of the Sierra Madre Range and Snowy Range of southern Wyoming.
